The main distinct feature of the Faculty may be attributed to its dedicated team of experienced academics who also have work experience in the industry. The Faculty members in FAM comprised of a good mix of young and senior staff. Many of the senior staff have wide industry experience with professional qualifications. Another distinct feature is the programmes' rigorous curriculum which is well received by industry as evidenced by the high graduates' employability and constant feedback and engagement with the industry. The Faculty enjoys a high reputation as a leading provider of accounting and business graduates in the business community.

The Faculty has also continue to forge close links with the industry from the banking sector, such as Public Bank, Maybank, UOB (Asset Management) to provide employment opportunities and sponsorship for inter-varsity investment games. The Faculty also collaborate with international professional bodies like ACCA, ICAEW and CIMA and local ones like MIA, MAICSA and CTIM for programme accreditations and exemptions to provide the academic route for students to achieve professional qualifications besides professional engagement for professional development. Students are also actively involved in competition and current development and trained during their internship with respective companies. Recently FAM’s postgraduate programmes have also received accreditation from the Alliance on Business Education and Scholarship for Tomorrow (ABEST21). The latest strong collaboration with the industry such as REHDA Institute has also enable us to develop a strong partnership in the development of postgraduate programme, research and training for both students and staff.

In light of the pandemic and new normal, we wish our students success and that they take advantage of the many health and academic support resources available and also to take time to enjoy the campus and its many recreational and cultural opportunities. Be an active member of this community by engaging in clubs and other activities of the university for the betterment of the society we live in.

Finally, remember to be extra kind to yourself and others always as we are returning to the near state of normalcy we have all craved for the past few years. We will once again be back in the campus, collaborating through face-to-face interactions, and enjoying each other’s company.
